Files did not self register
I was having the same issues as others installing video studio 11 and having a fatal error. I installed manually as suggested but when installing the AVcontrolSDK I get an error of the following:
Files did not self register
Program Files\Common Files\Intervideo\Common\Bin\Dispsvr.dll
Specified module could not be found
Program Files\Common Files\Intervideo\Common\Bin\IVIVIDEO.ax\
Specified module could not be found
I am unable to capture video or use the part of the program tto make menu's etc.
I am using Windows XP sp2. I also have Video Studio 9 installed.
Your help is appreciated!

have you tried to register the file manually.
Please view
Register a DLL
From the windows START button select RUN
in the RUN dialog box type
regsvr32 "c:\Program Files\Common Files\Intervideo\Common\Bin\Dispsvr.dll"
By the way my copy of Dispsvr.dll is located at:
C:\Program Files\Ulead Systems\Ulead VideoStudio 11\AVControl
Therefore on my machine the command would be
regsvr32 "C:\Program Files\Ulead Systems\Ulead VideoStudio 11\AVControl\Dispsvr.dll"

Perhaps we have a new clue to this mystery right here?
I am one of those having the install problem, and I'm pretty sure I remember seeing my AVControl files in Common Files too. I just have to double-check when I get home tonight.
For some reason some users seem to get AVControl in Common Files, and others have it within the VS program folder. What if the install problems are directly related to the first group? Just a thought.

Try renaming your copy perhaps to Dispsvr.old
Then install this copy from my computer and see if this one will register
http://media6.filewind.com/g.php?filepath=13642
If it doesn't you can delete mine and rename yours back again

Finally Fixed!!!
Thanks to BrianCee as I was watching for others on the board having some of the same issues...turns out I needed to update the DirectX drivers on my computer.
Can I unistall video studio 9 after installing video studio 11 or does the upgrade use some files from the video studio 9 edition?
Thanks

Hi
Yes you can uninstall VS 9, but as you suggest you may have problems.
If So:- this should be restored by running a repair for VS 11. ( there are some common files)
I would recommend running both VS 9 and 11. for the time being.
Many users run several versions of VS without problems.
In my opinion VS 9 is the best of the bunch.
