producing DVD pal

Post by brayspeed »

Hi
I would like to know if there is a better way,

1/. I capture in dv/avi as i down convert from hdv to dv

2/.project properties are
PAL (25fps)
MPEG files
24bits, 720 x 576, 25 fps
Lower field First
DVD PAL 16.9
Video date rate Variable (MAX 8000kbps)
Audio data rate 256 kbps
Dolby Digital Audio, 48 Khz 2/0(L/R)

3/ I place my project onto the time line

4/ goto share create disc and burn

would it be better to capture as MPEG

No do not capture a DV file as mpeg - capture it as DVavi

Your project properties are wrong if you are importing as DV then the second line should say "AVI files"

item 3 is OK

But item 4 should say "Go to Share >> Creat Video File and create DVD compliant video file"

Then item 5 would say "delete everything from the timeline"

item 6 would say "Go to Share >> Create Disc and import the new mpeg2 file and burn to disc.

I'm not sure how you capture HDV as DV...but I bring all my stuff in as HDV then edit and save the results in this format for playing on my HTPC. If I need to distribute on DVD then I take the selected clips and burn using a DVD template.

Thanks
