Video Studio 11 - Autosound not working under Vista O/S

Post by MovieBuff »

Autosound is not functional (greyed out) under Vista but is OK under XP on same (dual boot) system. Does anyone know of a setting which needs to be configured either in Vista or VS11?

Now that tyou mention it, auto sound isn't working on my Vista either. It isn't grayed out, but complains about reinstalling Quicktime.

If you have the download version of VideoStudio 11+ then one of your download files is named uvs11_bonuscd_(e).exe
use Winzip to extract that file to a folder and then you will find in that directory:
*\WinDVD8 Silver\3rdpartyapp\QuickTime\QuickTime7.exe

You need to install that version of Quicktime, newer versions have been known to cause problems with VideoStudio.

At least now it tries to do something. But now it keep bugging me about inserting a data CD, and after cancelling that, it downloads a preview from the net. It is like it can't find the quicktracks libraries, which is installed on the disk.

I discovered the solution. The contentpack had not been installed properly under both Vista and XP, however the XP appeared to work because of an earlier version of Videostudio residing on that opering system. Hope this is of help to someone else.

I got my problem solved as well. I just needed to go into "SmartSound Manager" and add its music library path to the Sound File Folders.
A bit odd that this wasn't set by the installer. It worked fine by itself on my Win XP machine, but apparently not in Vista.
