VS9 Error - Convert Step Problem

Post by KizzaBlue »

Please help!

Im using VS9. I'm trying to burn a DVD and keep getting an error message: 0x800411ad (4525) it also said '4525 Convert Step Problems'

The DVD I am trying to burn is of 3 separate mpg video files. I've not tried to burn a different project yet to see if the same error occurs.

Does anyone know what this means?

I've been using VS9 for a few years now and never had and error message before

Also, I'm finding when I burn DVD's through VS9 they sometimes freeze part way through while playing back on a DVD player or wont play at all. They will play fine on the computer though. It's very frustrating when you spend hours editing videos only to find they don't play! Could this be the burner I am using or the program?

Any help you can give would be very much appreciated.

:D

If you do a search of the forum for that error message, you'll get several hits. Not all have the same problem, but get the same error. This error could be caused by several things, such as converting motion menus, titles, video file formats, ect.

Since you have been using VS9 successfully for some time, what workflow do you follow? Is is similar to our Recommend Workflow ? You could also have a corrupt MPEG file, that may play alright, but when VS tries to encode it, it has problems and chokes.

If you're using Motion Menus, try using static menus and see if you still get the error. If you still are unable to burn a disk (or DVD Folders, since you're having problems, I'd recommend doing until you get this issue resolved), then start looking at your video files. Only by trial and error can you determine what is causing this.

yep, I use the suggested workflow. Maybe it is a currupt file. I will trying burning another project to see if the same message appears.

I get a bit confused when it comes down to all the technical side of this stuff

thanks for your reply :D
