Jerky dvd plus Disk Template Manager proble ?

Sort of experimenting with different settings to try and isolate why my final dvd frames are sometimes jerky.
I have now managed to produce a dvd with no jerking, and the difference in settings are firstly a simpler menu system plus using Dolby Digital rather than LPCM stereo. So I'm thinking maybe the bigger file system and extra processing work needed to give LPCM, may be too much for the pc ? Is this a sensible conclusion anyone ?

I'm now trying to reproduce the results just to make sure I'm not seeing things but am now confused because I can't get the Disk Template Manger to save the setting HQ 4:3 (without Dolby), it keeps jumping back to the Dolby setting. However, my clip properties and my Mpeg Settings for File Conversion are both LPCM LFF.

What exactly does the Template Manager do then ?
