V.S. 10 will not open

Post by AwesomeQ »

it's the full version and I have never had any problems with it until now, but the programme just refuses to open.

I double click the icon on my desktop to launch it, the "loading" eggtimer appears by my cursor... then after three or four seconds the eggtimer is gone and nothing happens.

can anyone explain why this is?

thanks in advance

I would suggest that you UNinstall VS10 ( using this procedure)then reinstall VS10.

Try this, it's for Video Studio 9 but seems to work for other Ulead productis that won't start, substutite Video Studio with Video Studio 10.

I keep clicking the VideoStudio 9 icon but VideoStudio 9 won't launch. What do I do?

* This is due to Data Execution Prevention for WinXP with Service Pack 2. Go to Control Panel > System > Advanced > Performance Settings > Data Execution Prevention . Select Turn on DEP for all programs and services except those I select then click Add . Locate vstudio.exe in the VideoStudio folder in Program files and select Open . Click Apply then restart your computer.

I had this same problem with VS9 SE DVD. I've never had an application that behaved that way. Tyamada's solution (creating an exception to Data Execution Prevention) worked like a charm. This has to be a widespread issue.

I just tried doing this, and it still won't open...

Are there any other suggestions on what the problem could be?
