I was on steam with this thread http://phpbb.ulead.com.tw/EN/viewtopic.php?t=24866

Now, I have tested the trialversion of VS 11. Same black screen as the other fails in the above thread.

Is the new fancy functions in Ulead products violating older DVD players compatibility?
I have this old version 9 of Ulead and thats the only working application which work more or less flawlessly (almost) on my system and also the old P3 2.4GHhz system that I bought it to. Am I stucked with that version or should i try one more time with the helpdesk, that sertanly have lots to to ...

I used to have luck with Ulead products before but not any longer ... :roll: :?: :?

Have you tried the clean reinstall?

1. Launch Windows Explorer and go to "Tools > Folder Options > View" to check "show hidden files and folders";
2. Purge/delete all the files in these folders: "C:\Windows\Temp" "C:\Documents and Settings\[User Name]\Local Settings\Temp" (for WinXP);
3. It is safe to delete all contents of these folders. However, leave any files you can?t delete for now;
4. Delete these folders/directories: "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Ulead Systems" "C:\Program Files\Ulead Systems\Ulead VideoStudio 10.0" "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Ulead Systems\Ulead VideoStudio\10.0" "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\SmartSound Software Inc" (for full versions);
5. Go to "C:\Program Files\InstallShield Installation Information";
6. Delete the folder "{E188D820-1218-4E28-8BCA-91134C3664C2}";
7. Go to Start-->Run;
8. Type "regedit" then "OK";
9. Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE > Microsoft > Windows > CurrentVersion > Uninstall;
10. Locate and delete the identity enclosed in curly brackets that corresponds to Ulead VideoStudio 10: "{E188D820-1218-4E28-8BCA-91134C3664C2}";
11. Go to "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Ulead Systems\Ulead VideoStudio";
12. Delete the folder "10.0";
13. Go to "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Ulead Systems\Ulead VideoStudio";
14. Delete the folder "10.0";
15. Close Regedit and restart Windows;
16. Reinstall Ulead VideoStudio 10.

Thank you very much robruiz
I maybe try that later on but I don't think it will solve the problem that Ulead VS11 is authoring DVD's thats not compatible with my standalone player. Everything else is working great.
I use VS9 for the authoring process at the moment because thats the way my standaolone DVD player likes it :)

Hmm I have friends I can go and test the VS11 DVD's . I'll report when new Info is available in this matter.
