I made a slideshow MPEG movie out of Images and want to add music.
I want the duration of the video to last the entire length of the music. The
problem that I encountered is that the images in the slideshow will recycle
and repeat themselves until the music stops. I don't want this. I tried changing the duration options but there doesn't seem to be anything in
VS10 that will allow me to do this. Other applications such as Sony, Pinnacle and Power Director give you the option of sequencing the images
to fit the music. Is there any way to do this in VS10?

There are a few methods you can use.
The easiest is to use this method:
VS 9/10: Changing slideshow slides to beat of music
This is leaving it to the software to do all the synchronisation. I myself prefer to do things myself, with VideoStudio the easiest method is to do it like this:
Use the overlay tracks to synchronise the music

How do I sync background music with a pre-made video
The first (and easiest) method does not work as it should. All of the images end up being timed evenly. I tried all of the options and cannot get the images to stop when the music ends. The images will repeat themselves until the music stops or the music will reycle itself until the images stop. I want the images to fit the music and stop at the end of the music. The screen shot examples indicate that this is possible but I can't
get it to work. I uninstalled and reinstalled VS10 along with the service
pack update, but I keep getting the same results.

From the VS Editor:
Take the total duration of your music and divide by the number of images you have.
For instance, your music is 5 minutes and 4 seconds (304 seconds) and you have 100 pictures. The length to set your images to (in File > Preferences > Edit Tab > Default Inserted Image Clip Duration) would be 3 seconds. Obviously, because of fractions of a second they probably won't match up exactly, so you can adjust the playback speed of the music to make it fit (if it's only a few seconds this won't distort the sound).
Another obvious alternative would be to fade out the music at whatever point the images end.

Erm do you have VS10 (Standard) or VS10+ (Plus) - the Plus version includes 6 overlay tracks which is what I illustrated in the above link.rjacek1 wrote:T....The screen shot examples indicate that this is possible but I can't get it to work.
