Audio progressively goes out of sync with the video

Post by jerrykr0 »

I have recorded a large number of TV shows on tape.

Using this application, I have edited out the commercials and burned the results to DVD. The resulting DVD is about one hour and 40 minutes long from a two hour program.

Playing the DVDs, I find that at about 40 minutes into the DVD, the audio starts to LAG behind the video.

Near the end of the DVD (1.5 hours), the LAG is 10 seconds or more.

I know that the application allows you adjust the audio/video sound; however, the audio is PERFECT for the first portion of the DVD but becomes irritatingly lagging more and more as the DVD continues. This adjustment does not correct the problem in any way.

I wonder if removing the commercials in some way disrupts the audio timing. ? ?

ULEAD support has given up on me and does not respond to my emails any longer.

I have about 30 DVDs that are currently unwatchable after the 40 minute mark.

Videos that I do not edit do not exhibit this anomoly.

What format did you capture to? This problem is fairly common with MPEG files. If you hardware will allow it, try capturing to AVI/DV.

If you for search the forum for "sync", you will find lots of discussion & suggestions.

I have an MPEG only capture card, and my solution was to buy a special-purpose MPEG editor from Womble. (I still use Ulead to make the DVD.)

Thank you for the prompt reply!

It is a wonder that you came up with the solution so quickly since for many months and many, many emails, ULEAD could not solve it - or chose not to solve it.

I can tell you I had the same trouble with MAGIX and they couldn't/wouldn't solve the same problem either. That involved months and many, many emails also.

Forums are the place to find solutions to problems and I appreciate your information.

Thanks very much

Jerry
