freezing on the loading screen

Hi,

I bought the update version (to version 4) as I have version 3. But the update did not work. So I bought the full version as well to see if it works. Basically on both versions everything goes fine through the installation process. I then go to open photoshow 4 and it freezes on the loading screen (the one with the smiling woman holding a dvd).
I have installed quicktime and the other driver (DVIx or something) that’s required.

How do I get the software to work?
