Programme crashes Ulead video studio 9

Post by paullaw1155 »

The programme crashes "sometimes" when i upload from my camcorder.
Ulead recognises my camcorder and allows me to upload but keeps crashing. I get the error message Send the information to Microsoft.
The programme keeps the AVI file in its library so i have not lost anything but it is annoying and takes a lot longer to upload video files than it should do.

I am using windows XP media edition and still on Ulead 9.

Hope someone can help
Thanks

Quite a lot of users who have Windows Media Edition had problems with VS9 (and earlier versions). In fact, VS9 -- if you look at the system requirements -- is not rated to work with Media Edition, though it did for some people. It seemed to be an arbitrary case of computer architecture which allowed it...

Can you also confirm that your camcorder is a mini-DV one and that you were in fact trying to capture DV/AVI using a firewire connection...

Ulead Crash

Post by paullaw1155 »

Thanks for the reply Ken.

Yes my camcorder is the mini DV tape type and is connected via a firewire.
I am reluctant to upgrade to the later versions of Ullead because of this problem. It looks like I will have to work round it which is a nuisance.
I managed to compile my own DVDs on my previous version of XP. As you say it is a compatibility problem with media edition. I would have thought that Ulead would issue a patch to overcome this issue. :(

Cheers

Unfortunately, the "patch" was included in VS10, which is compatible with MCE...
