Record in Stereo
Hello everyone.
I am using Ulead VideoStudio 11 as a software to record tv programs.
However, i cannot record in stereo!
I can record video with audio only from the left speaker. But this happens only for the Ulead VideoStudio 11 and my audio settings are fine. My drivers are up-to-date.
I need someone to help me as soon as possible please.
If you need more information, i will be glad to pass it to you.

This probably has something to do with your hardware set-up.
Are you hearing sound from both speakers during video capture (during recording)?
What kind of capture device do you have? Is your audio-in connected to your capture device, or to your soundcard's line-in?
FYI - It's usually better to use the special capture software that came with your capture hardware. Then, once you have an audio/video file on your hard drive, you can use the software of your choice for video editing and DVD authoring.

OK... If you are recording the TV signal from an antenna or cable, there are no audio connections to the computer.I have AVerTV Super 007. I think it is connected to my soundcard's line-in.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
FROM A TV OR CABLE "CHANNEL":
If this isn't working in stereo, I suspect there is something wrong with the AVerTV card.
The sound would be coming-in with the TV signal and it would get into the computer over the PCI bus along with the video. (If the audio/video are coming-in over antenna connection, the left & right sudio and video won't get separated until the sound comes-out of the soundcard to your speakers... If the video is working, the both audio channels should be working...)
So, if you are watching/recording a TV channel, the soundcard is only used for output (listening). If the sondcard can play a CD or MP3 file in stereo, it can play the TV sound in stereo too.
Windows does have a left-right "balance" controls. (Two of them. One for recording and one for playback.) I doubt that's the problem, but here's how to check it:
To open the windows mixer, double-click the speaker icon on the bottom right of your screen. You should see the volume and balance controls for your sound card.
Click Options->Properties
Select the AverTV device as the Mixer Device
Click OK and that should show you the volume and balance control for the AverTV device.
To check the recording settings,
Click Options->Properties
Select the AverTV device as the Mixer Device (if not already selected)
Click Recording
Click OK and that should show you the recording volume and balance control for the AverTV device.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
FROM A VCR OF DVD PLAYER:
The AVerTV card seems to have an audio-in connector. If you are recording from a VCR or DVD player, you need an audio cable connected from the video player to the AVerTV card (not connected to your sound card), and that audio cable could be the problem. In that case, you can try a new cable. If that doesn't work, try connecting something else. You can try conecting a portable CD player if you have a matching cable. The sound won't match the video, but that's OK for test purposes.

My speakers came with a sub woofer and they are connected with it. The lines are different. The right speaker's line is big and the left speaker's line is normal, i can't switch them. I don't think it's a faulty cable or something. Must be something else. What else could i try?
EDIT: I connected a headset and it's working just like the speakers. The problem still remains.

Not the speakers... The line level cables. You said you were running composite, so you should have 3 RCA type cables running from your TiVo to your capture card.... a yellow (video), a red (audio right), and the other one is either white or black (left audio)Chris_13 wrote:My speakers came with a sub woofer and they are connected with it.
