I have seen a few threads which suggest copying dat files from earlier VS versions to newer ones. I was wondering if alternatively I could use another option.
I don't need all the libraries that I have in 9 transferred to 11+ - but I do want to keep them in tact in 9 for possible future reference. I do have audio/video/title files that I would like to transfer to 11+ though. WOuld it work if I created a project in VS9 - loaded all the files that I wanted to keep on the timeline....saved it. Then opened the VS9 file in 11+ and copies and pasted from the timeline into libraries I create in 11+? I know this is might be the long way around things - but at least I'd be assured that VS9 would stay in tact - and I'd only have what I really needed in 11+.
Please let me know... thanks
Ilene
PS - I think when I transferred some dat files from 9 to 10+ on a different computer that I had linking problems. I had to relink all the files in the library. Perhaps it was because it was on a different computer than which it had all been created ( although both computers were networked to the same external hard drive that housed all the files.....)
