Hello everyone;
I'm new at this forum and I wish you could help me.
I recently downloaded Ulead DVD MovieFactory 6, and I was enchanted with it, given that I had similar programs, but none allowed me to burn my slideshow to a DVD [since I needed about 4.7 GB memory].
Anyway, I created the slideshow, everything went great, got to the part of actually burning the slideshow to a 4.7 GB DVD, however, I noticed that even though I had already loaded the DVD, the 'Disc Type' option said -Empty-, I thought that was weird, so instead I loaded a normal CD, and the Disc Type changed to Cd-R. No problem with that.
Pretty weird for me. I dont know I'm guessing my computer or the program isn't recognizing the DVD. And I don't know what to do.
Please help me! Anything you have to say is very valuable.
Thanks in advance,
Diane

Have you tried a different blank DVD? Maybe you've got a bad one.
Are you sure your computer has a DVD burner? Sorry to ask an obvoius question, but there are "combo drives" that can burn CDs, but only play DVDs... I have one on my computer at work...
If you have other burning software on your computer, you may have a conflict. Some "drag & drop" burning software (like Nero In-CD) can sometimes "take over" your drive. You can try disabling your drag & drop software.
Or, you can create an "image"* of the slideshow DVD on your hard drive, and simply use your other burning software to copy the files to an actual DVD. When you get to the burn screen, un-check the box that says Create to Disc, and check the box that says Create DVD/HD-DVD Folders.

Another thing to check is do you have a full version of MovieFactory 6.
Some hardware companies 'give away' SE versions of Ulead Software with things like camcorders, scanners, digital cameras and so on.
Some of those SE (Simple Edition) versions do not burn DVD's but only VCD/SVCD formats on standard CD discs.
If you do have a full version then check this link and in particular the part about firmware.
