i have recently purchased Ulead Videstudio 11 so i could have a better editing software, rather than winfows movie maker.
my question is the following. I have several self recorded movie clips from games (in AVI format), i placed them in the library and constructed this prototype project:
but the problem is, i want this whole project to be saved in a playable movie file, not a project file. can someone guide me on how to convert this into an avi or wmv file?
And the format you choose will depend on what you intend to do with your project. If you intend to burn it to DVD, then you choose Share > Create Video File > DVD (NOT mpeg-2). And make sure the properties of the 'DVD' format you choose reflect the size of the project and your expectations of quality. If your project is less than an hour, say, and you want the highest quality, then you would use a bitrate of 8000 kbps and it would all fit on a single layer DVD. If, however, it is a longer project, but you still want it to fit on a single layer DVD, then you have to sacrifice a bit of quality. So if, say, the project runs 90 minutes, then you have to reduce the bitrate (and thus quality) to around 6000 kbps -- though in fact that bitrate should still give you good quality. Two hours will require a bitrate of 4000 kbps.
And above all, make sure that the Field Order of the template you use is exactly the same as your video. Thus, if the original video is Upper Field First, then you must use UFF throughout; ditto if it is Lower Field First -- then you use Lower Field First throughout. Otherwise, you will get jerky video and jagged edges when the file is eventually burned to DVD.
