Movies-too big

I have Ulead Videostudios9 and the size of the films are too big (1,5 minutes=150mb!) what can I do against it?

It depends on the bitrate (kbps). The useable bitrate depends on the format (type of compression) used.

The format depends on what yoiu are using the video for. If you are playing the video on a computer, WMV can give you fairly small files. If you are making a DVD, you will need to use MPEG-2.

Once you decide on a format, a higher bitrate will give you higher quality (and a larger file).

For example, uncompressed DV (Correction, uncompressed AVI, thanks Ken) is about 60GB per hour. AVI/DV (from a MiniDV camera) is 13GB per hour. MPEG-2 (used on DVDs) is typically 2.5GB per hour. MPEG-4 can be less than 1GB per hour.

Just to clarify once again, it is uncompressed AVI (not DV) which is 65 GB per hour...
