vs and dvdws fixes
I recently installed dvdws2 and I had vs10+ on my system. I can no longer import my home made dvds in vs10+. Can someone point me to the list of fixes required for this problem? I remember seeing this somewhere but I cant find it.
thanks

When you perform the search make sure that you include hidden files and system folders.

Still hasnt found any files of that name. I downloaded the file as suggested in the fix and put it in the common files area and still nothing works. As a workaround i can import dvds into DVDWS and then use the resultant mpegs in VS for editing. However I dont like the dvdws auto splitting into scenes. I would like just one mpeg as a result of the import. But that file definitely doesnt exist on my system anywhere!

Try doing a "Repair Installation" of VideoStudio 10+
Run the VideoStudio 10+ setup program again and this time there should be a repair option.
A small tip before doing this:
To preserve your current files, libraries and so on go to Windows Explorer and rename the following folders
From:
C:\Program Files\Ulead Systems\Ulead VideoStudio 10
To:
C:\Program Files\Ulead Systems\Ulead VideoStudio 10X
Also
From:
C:\Documents and Settings\Stephen\Application Data\Ulead Systems\Ulead VideoStudio\10.0
To:
C:\Documents and Settings\Stephen\Application Data\Ulead Systems\Ulead VideoStudio\10.0X
(Change Stephen to your Windows Username)
You can then run the installation program which will recreate those folders.
You can then rename the new ones (perhaps with a Y at the end) and then revert the original folders back to their original names.

The repair option must only be in the CD version.
next best thing then is
1. Rename the two folders I mentioned above.
2. Run the installation program to remove and then install the program
3. Revert back to the original folders.
Doing it this way should keep all of your libraries and any installed extras - such as burger transitions intact.

It would be advisable to re-install any service packs before reverting to the original folders. What we are doing here is 'repairing' the common files folder whilst at the same time preserving the original installation.
Once you have verified everything is working OK with VideoStudio you will be able to remove the new (renamed "Y") folders.
Regarding DVD Workshop.
When you install VideoStudio or MovieFactory it has been found that it does have one minor conflict. This affects the preview of subtitles - If you use them. If you do not add subtitles to DVD Workshop then no further action is required. If you do use Subtitles you will need to download and install the following fix.

Thanks heaps but im getting a bit confused. I thought that file (h264vdec...) was to fix the dvd import function for vs10+ if you have installed dvdws after installing vs10+. I understood that if you have reinstalled vs10+ as i have when dvd ws is already installed, then it breaks the subtitles of dvdws and the fix filename for dvd ws was different for the one you have just mentioned. Or am I wrong?

Sorry for any recent confusion. I uploaded fixes to
Filewind and also to MediaMax.
It appears that the monthly download limit on MediaMax has been used up - I guess my files must be popular!!
The Filewind website has been broken for at least 2 weeks now - you cannot even upload new files let alone retrieve those already there.
I found an alternative site. I have had to try and recreate those earlier fixes. To make things easier I have now created an all in one fix for the
DVD importation / DVD Workshop subtitles problems.

Thank you. You are most kind. Seeing as how I have fixed my dvd import for vs10+ by reinstalling. Which of the files in your download to I need to move to where to fix the subsequent dvd ws subtitle problem please? Im assuming that some of those files were to fix the dvd import problem which i have already fixed.

The zip file contains all of the content from my
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Ulead Systems\* Folder
You will see from my signature block the various Ulead programs I have installed - including VideoStudio 10+
You should be able to simply overwrite your existing folder.
If you wish you can rename or copy your existing folder beforehand so that if you wish you can always revert to how things were before installation of this fix.
On my machine I am able to import from DVD from all of the Ulead programs I have installed, plus DVD Workshop 2 correctly displays subtitles on the preview screens.
