PI 12: Multi-Display set up. Zoom levels and other matters.

Post by wymjym »

Hi,
I¡¦m using PI12 and am having several frustrating issues rear their collective heads.
1 I have a multi display setup, three monitors. Many times I will be working in the left most area and when I click some tools, for instance the line drawing one, the selection pops up way over in the right most monitor. I then need to drag my mouse across the screen to that right monitor to select. Is there a way of fixing the location where these pop ups show themselves?

2 Sometimes when doing pixel level work I work at 800% viewing, if I select an object and try to move it via the keyboard the screen will always default to the left upper quadrant of the image. Can I somehow avoid this while still working at 800% and using the keyboard controls?

3 In older PI programs I used to be able to ¡¥nudge¡¦ some things for better fitment¡Kis this available in PI12?

4 Is there a means of changing the viewing zoom, via the keyboard while maintaining the same relative image location on the monitors?

5 Lastly, even with 4 gig of memory I find ulead PI12 eventually slows down and the only way I have ever found to release the memory is the actually restart ulead. Is there any other means of handling this?

Thanks for any advice

Hi,
I guess I'm just too sensitive at the moment. I didn't really see a way of incorporating all of my little issues into one concise topic. I also didn't really understand that five separate topics would be a better approach.
So, there you are. I have now wasted some of my time answering your post that was probably a waste of your time. Are you angry with me because of BUSH?

Sorry if you thought I was telling you off - I was not.
I have altered the title (you can alter it again if you wish using the [Edit] button on your first post.

The purpose of providing a meaningful title is this.
There are a number of members on the forum who try and help troubleshoot problems - myself included. In the early days of the user forum it was not too difficult to be able to read all of the posts submitted since the last time I (or one of the other troubleshooters) had logged on.

On the Forum Home page at the top right is a link
[view posts since last visit] In the forums early days this would perhaps range between 10-30 posts. Today however the board has grown in popularity and more products are now catered for including the former Intervideo products before the merger with Ulead.

There have been days when I have logged on to find over 70 new posts since my last visit. It is of course impossible to read each and every one of them and so it is necessary to look at the titles to pick out posts where I feel I am able to offer some worthwhile input.

if you are viewing perhaps the VideoStudio forum and a post is entitled
"VideoStudio" - it doesn't really give you a clue, similarly in the PhotoImpact forum a post entitled [PhotoImpact] is equally as meaningless.

Giving a post a suitable title is a means of helping us to help you.

Hi,
thanks for the new title. Some days I'm just more thin skinned than others. I understand your situation and do appreciate the help/support YOU and others have given me over the years. I hope some of these issues can also be resolved.
Many years ago I spoke with a UL tech (I think in California) and he helped me enter into some of the code that set different positions for various pop ups...I know now that I should have guarded that info with my life but alas, I assumed the issues would be handled with newer versions of PI.
Looking forward to any help.
