I just started using the trial version of VS8. I shot a video of my kid's holiday show at pre-school. I have brought a 20 min. clip into VS8, gone to the edit tab and split off several short clips and placed them in the timeline. I have edited out some unwanted video. Before further editing, I think I would like to re-join some of the clips. My logic is that by combining two clips into one, I could reduce the number of clips I have to deal with in the timeline.
Could someone please tell me how I can combine two clips into one in VS8? Or, if I shouldn't want to do this, why not?

Just to add to what THoff said (which is quite correct) - it doesn't matter at all how many clips you have in the timeline. All this does is serve as a reference for VS8, that you want THIS clip, THAT clip, half of THIS clip, etc etc etc. I have had over a hundred clips in various projects.
When you are happy with the final result just go to SHARE - CREATE VIDEO FILE. VS8 will pull the data from all the selected places and make one contiguous file for you.
