Video Studio 11 Trial wont start Help me please!!

Post by 2BaD »

Ive installed the trial that installed ok, had no problems, when i go to start it by click on the icon on my desktop i get the box that gies me the option to try or activate ect, but when i click on try i get the eggtimer which tells me its loading, but then that disappears after about 3 seconds and then nothing at all! looked in processes and theres nothing in there aswell, so it looks as though it isent even trying to start!

Ive done things which i can think of like doing a clean install. even manually deleted everything out of registry and tryed again nothing, following a few threads on here which tells me how to uninstall and reinstall ect! still the same nothing! the strange thing is! i have had it working! i installed it a little while ago but didnt get the chance to try it, i just loaded it up and when i came on i got called away so i shut it down! a few days later i tryed to run it again to give it a try, thats when i got this problem, ive tryed everything i can think of and now ive just run out of ideas! can anyone please shed some light on this please any advice is very welcome!

i thought it might be a service that i disabled, but im sure i put everything back the way it was when i first got it working! i just cannot think of anything please help!

1. How long have you had the program installed?
2. Have you tried the DEP thing? Instructions for Exempting from DEP

yep ive tryed the dep thing!

And the trial hasent run out if thats what you was thinking!;o) i only had it installed a couple of days! just very stranged why it wont work now! Any other ideas, surely it must be something very little that ive done on my system or something ive recently removed! think the only thing ive installed since then, is the new nero burning rom and a couple of shareware system cleaners! which remove junk mail clean registry ect!! im totally out of ideas! ive read a couple more people are having the same problem on here, ive read there posts but still i havent seen no replys back saying they fixed it! maybe they just gave up! wel i personally donot see giving up as an option as i really liked videostudio 10 and ive just finally become to understand how it all works, so changing programs isent a option for me!

thanks for your reply though mate! anymore ideas

can someone please tell me how i can go ABout contacting tech support! as i must say the tech support help on this forum sux big time! not even a slight bit of help, or is it because theres only a couple of people with this problem so it doesent really matter! just shove it in a corner and hope i go away! jeez ive been a dedicated buyer of all the ulead videostudio products and i will confess i havent really had any problems with em, except now! and now that i have a problem noone wants to know!

The least a site admin could do is answer my question about how i go about contacting tech support for some help! surely there must be a solution for this somewere! a program just doesent load for no reason, everything has a reason!

So im asking please someone show me how i can contact tech support so i can prepare myself for the long and winding wait for there reply!

Thanks!

I am not Site Admin or anything like that, nor am I a Corel/Ulead emloyee or in any way connected with them apart from owning several Ulead products (and being a regular on this Board). But I offer the following for what it is worth.

First, though, Corel/Ulead staff rarely if ever visit this Board, so posting and venting here will achieve little more than making you feel either better or worse.

As for the old tech support form, I have gone to the Ulead site, and selected Support. And it seems, indeed, that the old form has gone. That seems to be part of the takeover by Corel. However, as has always been the case, tech support has only ever been available for registered users, so I hope that you are a registered user with them.

If you are, then, when you click on the 'support form' link in the Customer Service page, you are taken to a page with three tabs, the second of which -- if you are a registered user -- is a direct email form, where you can set out your problem.

It took me all of 10 seconds to find it.

Did you ever find a resolution to being unable to load v11? I'm actually trying to help out a friend on the other side of the country with a very similar problem.

To diagnose the problem, I have Vista loaded within a VMware virtual machine along with v11. I don't have any problems loading v11, but I did notice that the process that is running is "vstudio.lod", which is not an executable and suggests they're loading this into RAM and executing it. My friend can see that vstudio.lod appears momentarily within task manager, but then disappears. I haven't had a chance to suggest he add vstudio.exe to the DEP exclusion list yet. I'm wondering what your solution was since you said you tried adding it to the DEP exclusion and it didn't solve the problem for you.

Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

im still having no luck im afraid the dep solution well i must say that isent even a solution, ive never had to add anything to dep in all the years ive been with computers but i did try it and as i imagined it didnt make no difference what so ever! as for your friend having vstudio.lod loading, that is strange maybe the shortcut on his desktop is pointing to that! maybe try changing it to point to vstudio.exe or even try click on vstudio.exe in the installed directory, when i try to load it vstudio.exe does appear in taskmanager for a split second then disapears again! it just wont stay there and load, ive proper wrecked my head trying to figure out away around this, but i come up with nothing! the strange thing for me is, i installed the trial version of videostudio 10 and that starts perfect, but 11 just wont start! the only thing i can think of is if corel has changed the program somehow and something somewere is not working on our computers because everyone else seems to have got it running ok!

Maybe we could work together maybe list all the software we have installed and see what we have the same?? let me know if interested mate!

i dont see the problem with danielavideo posting on my thread i mean were both experiencing the same problem, so wouldent it be easyier to keep them together! besides, its made yourselfs look at my original post  I really could do with some help guys im totally out of ideas, its nothing to do with a faulty download and i can also say that theres nothing wrong with my system, considering this is the only program that wont start!

If it was a currupt dll file or something like that! surely an error box would appear when trying to launch eh! Also say if it was conflicting with another program on my system, then wouldent it again show some sort of error box! i mean im not getting anything at all! I dont even have any error msg in event viewer and when it starts to load i had task manager open and i see vstudio.exe appear inside task manager but only for a second then goes again! i just cannot understand why! ive done all the usual steps of cleaning temp files and spyware scans and done a clean install of the program a couple of times i just dont know were else to look! ive defraged my drives cleaned registry just ran out of ideas, the bit that puzzles me is, videostudio 10 trial seems to work ok! i just cannot get videostudio 11 to start!

If anyone can come up with anymore ideas or suggestions or even better a solution to this problem id be extremely greatful!

Thanks for your time!
