The link is correct, but the webhotel I am using appears to be down. It will hopefully come back up soon.

In the meantime, the error message from the patch was:
"Check-02:This upgrade patch can't apply to your version of WinDVD. Setup will now abort..."

I'm not even going to attempt this fix. I don't have and never have had WinDVD installed on my PC. Are Corel suggesting that I must install WinDVD before VS11+ will install correctly on my machine?

I have also received a further email from Corel regarding this:
The latest patch is for the error which is caused by any IVI product, include WinDVD5.

Hi,
When I tried to access that FTP link, I got an error message saying

Error 550 Failed to Change Directory

I clicked on OK and nothing loaded.

My browser is Firefox 2.0

It's now Sept 08. I assume that the patch you suggested still fixes the various InterVideo install problems?

Other installed products:

Ulead DVD Workshop 2

Previously installed products:

Ulead VideoStudio 9 (trial version)

Have a good one,
Big Al Mintaka

You are quite right that the link doesn't appear to work now, but it did last friday. I was contacted by someone from Corel (i think), and asked to try the patch again (after my unsuccessful experience with the WinDVD error). And this time it worked perfectly. So if the link comes up again, it is definately worth a try.

AVControlSDK Installation problem with Video Studio v11

Post by Neil Harmon »

To sjj1805:

I cannot follow the instructions for the patch you show under "avcontrolsdk - Your help is needed". I cannot find UVS/DMF file folder or files to which the instructions refer.

However, I have a fix from Carlo Encinas at Corel support which completely solved the AVControSDK installation problem with Video Studio V11. Here is the fix as he sent it to me:

Hi Neil,

Can you download this installer and use this?

ftp://ULFYTXKD:VILX1S6Q@private.ulead.c ... trol_E.zip

If the AVControlSDK error appears, please go to the program directory of VideoStudio 11 (C:\Program Files\Ulead Systems\Ulead VideoStudio 11) and look for the UVS.log file. Send this file to carlo.encinas@corel.com so we can identify what's causing the error.

I downloaded the patch which is a complete new installation file. You have to unzip it.

I uninstalled all previous attempts and installed using this version and it worked perfectly. The AVControlSDK module installs correctly and I can now capture DV files from camera.

Unfortunately it did not include all the files in the "Samples" folder that come with the original installation disk, but I was able to capture them by installing V11 on another computer (with the AVControl setting of 0 in the info.ini folder). This produces an incomplete installation, but I then copied the Samples folder to my "good" installation.

I think Corel should send everyone who paid for the VideoStudio 11 retail package a new disk that installs correctly without having to go through the download, unzip and reinstall, and that includes all the samples.

AVControlSDK Installation problem with Video Studio v11

referring to my previous message:

I see now that the "UVS/DMF" folder refers to the entire Video Studio installation folder under Program Files. I was looking for sub folders with those initials.

I am still not going to try the fix because I seem to have a working installation with the fix I received from Corel Support.

Hello!

So what is new about dealing with this problem?

If I use WinDVD5.0B011.Recover.FixedGenericLicense.iUpgrade.exe I get the same problem as some of the people saying that the program can't run because I don't have WinDVD...

I'm still waiting for the solution.

You are probably using the wrong file (as I was in the beginning). I know the link in this thread has been altered some time back. Try this one:
ftp://ftp.ulead.com/pub/Updates/VideoSt ... pgrade.exe

Thread locked now that VideoStudio 11.5 has been announced which hopefully will have resolved this issue. Thank you to all those who have participated in the data gathering exercise.
