Note: This is the procedure for v10+ (my v11+ trial expired
)
First of all, you must be in timeline view. Above the timeline are a series of icons. Second from the right is the Overlay Track Manager. Clicking on that will open the box where you can choose how many overlays you want.

I just bought V11. I do not see an "Overlay Track Manager" in my toolbar. I have tried both Overlay and Edit modes.
My toolbar does not look like the one in the manual on page 32! The rightmost icon is the "Batch Convert" icon. To the left of that are the "Undo/Redo" icons.
The Enable/Disable Smart Proxy and Enable/Disable 5.1 Surround icons are also missing!
I am running on Win XP on a Dual Core Athlon.
How can I enable the Overlay Track Manager icon?

only 1 overlay trak in VS11
Thanks. You saved me much head scratching.
I think it is odd, however, that the manual that comes with VS11 makes no mention of VS11Plus. It describes the Overlay Track Manager in detail but doesn't mention that I don't have it! The website at www.ulead.com is clear but this deficiency was not clear when I bought VS11 from a third party store.
I need to do a background with Green Screen, a live head shot, and another overlay like in a news program. So I think I need at least 2 overlay tracks.
There is no clear upgrade path from VS11 to VS11Plus. This makes me unhappy.
I will call customer support on Monday to see if there is a solution.
Thanks again for your forum and your quick response.
