I originally purchased WinDVD 7 online (for download) in a hurray last year before a lengthy trip. The download of WinDVD7.exe is 57,410,722 bytes.
Unfortunately, when I went to install it, I got the error: "The contents of this file cannot be unpacked. The executable you are attempting to run has been corrupted. Please obtain another copy of the file, verify its integrity, and try again."
After rebuild my O/S (Win 2K Advanced Server), I realized that I did not have to make do with the OEM WinDVD 1.x that I had, since I had purchased the snazzy new WinDVD 7 a year before. I managed to find a link to download the product again by looking through the support pages:
http://webdownload2.intervideo.com/wind ... inDVD7.exe
And... the WinDVD7.exe executable is once again 57,410,722 bytes, and equally unrunable. I get the same error and cannot get the blasted thing to even start installing.
Anybody else got this problem and any solution? The downloads in both cases were clean - no errors. Given that the size is exactly the same, it seems like it should be correct.
Thanks,
E
