Resizing round cornered box without distorting corners?

Post by sisom »

Hi everybody, I'm trying to make a very large (1600 x 9200) round cornered box for use as the background to a website, which will be using CSS, so the box resizes to fill the screen, no matter what resolution screen (up to 1600 px wide) the user has, and the 9200 px height is to allow for large pages of text, etc.

I have been able to draw a 1600 x 1200 box (or thereabouts) directly on my 1600 x 1200 screen, but I'd like to resize it to 1600 x 9200, and every time I do this the corners deform. I know I can manually select the edge tags and then drag it, but is there a way to constrain the drag so that it stays perfectly vertical? Or is there a way to use the resize tool to resize it without the corners deforming? Or is there a way to preset the size of a box you are going to draw so I can just click once and draw a 1600 x 9200 box instantly, and then change the roundness of the corners to my liking?

Sorry if this has been asked before, I did search but couldn't find anything.

i understand what you mean :) i use the "path edit tool" when adjusting the size by selecting the points and moving them to the desired position.

i think ill add technique in my tutorial up coming tutorial site as well...

i understand what you mean :) its tricky but i would use the "path edit tool" when adjusting the size of a rounded shapes.

by editing the path then selecting the points and moving them to the desired position.
I'll add this technique in to my up coming tutorial site as well...
