RAID0-drive will be shut down while using WinDVD8

Post by mattkess »

Hi everybody, I've got a very mysterious bug.

I've installed WindDVD8 on my desk workstation with hardware ZeroRAID controller ICP-vortex GDT8500RZ. I have one single host drive (C:) with os Windows xp sp2, one RAID5-drive (D:) from three physicially hdd's and one RAID0-drive (E:) from 2 physicially hdd's. The last one (E:) will be shutdown immidially when I start WinDVD8. I have to shut down my system and repatch the RAID0-Drive. I have no datalosses but the drive with all my video datas is kicked off. I can reproduce this bug everytime (but I didn't want it furthermore, you know?).

Does anybody confirm this phenomen? I am sorry, but I must kick off the f*** WinDVD8 und have to use another DVD-software player. By the way WinDVD7 makes no problems, but this is rather old.

I must be a conflict between Windvd8 and the raid system driver. It crushes so hard throug the lowest driver level, that I can repair the RAID0 only with the ICP Vortex bios software.

I want to know the reason for this bug. Anybody an idea?

I'm getting the same problem except with a NVIDIA RAID5 setup.

If anyone has any clues it would be greatly appreciated as I am tired of rebuilding arrays every time I watch a video.
