Video Studio 11 help

Post by walker726 »

I recently downloaded Ulead Video Studio 11. when i import clips into my library that i have imported off of my DVD camcorder, the date and time or the recording shows up on the bottom of the video. But, when i play them in a video player such as Media Player the writing is not there. How do i stop the writing from coming up on the videos in Video Studio 11?

Welcome to the forums..

First did you download the Trial (TBYB) or purchase? If using the TBYB, then no help files are included in the download to save on file size. However you can download the manual HERE, and on Page 47, it explains about using DV Quick Scan.
VS 11 Manual wrote: DV Quick Scan
Use this option to scan a DV device for scenes to import. To use DV Quick Scan, refer to the first step in the DV-to-DVD Wizard section.
In DV Quick Scan, you can add the date and time of your video. After scanning your DV tape, click Next. This will then display the Capture to Timeline Settings dialog box. Select Insert to Timeline and choose Add video date information as title. If you want the shooting date to appear in the entire duration of the video, select Entire video or only during a specified time.
Then also found in the Preferences Dialog (File menu>Preferences, or press F6), on the General tab, uncheck the box where it says Disply DV timecode on Preview window (Page 136).

Located in the Free Stuff for Use with Ulead Products is a link for a small free utility called
DV Date. It will burn the date/time stamp of the avi file into the video.

This is particularly useful for videos to be used in court proceedings. However you must consider if your target audience will become annoyed with seeing the date and time displayed during the entire video.

Search the VS forum, another user had the exact same problem and it was a feature in his Sony camcorder setup menu.

Where is that option in VS? Why do I allways have to use a single tool?

Sorry if you this sounds like I am telling you off - I am not.
You can alter the title by using the [Edit] button on your first post.

The purpose of providing a meaningful title is this.
There are a number of members on the forum who try and help troubleshoot problems - myself included. In the early days of the user forum it was not too difficult to be able to read all of the posts submitted since the last time I (or one of the other troubleshooters) had logged on.

On the Forum Home page at the top right is a link
[view posts since last visit] In the forums early days this would perhaps range between 10-30 posts. Today however the board has grown in popularity and more products are now catered for including the former Intervideo products before the merger with Ulead.

There have been days when I have logged on to find over 70 new posts since my last visit. It is of course impossible to read each and every one of them and so it is necessary to look at the titles to pick out posts where I feel I am able to offer some worthwhile input.

if you are viewing perhaps the VideoStudio forum and a post is entitled
"VideoStudio" - it doesn't really give you a clue, similarly in the PhotoImpact forum a post entitled [PhotoImpact] is equally as meaningless.

Giving a post a suitable title is a means of helping us to help you.
