VS10+ Low Audio for Video used in Powerpoint

Post by LGO »

I'm giving a lecture next week (no big deal - don't be impressed) using Powerpoint and I wanted to use about 2 to 3 minutes from a movie DVD in the presentation (Falls under the educational use so no copyright comments, please <grin>).

Figured out how to extract the several clips I want that make up the 2 to 3 minutes. Output is to a 640x480 wmv file. Playback after rendering is fine. Playback of the wmv file in Media Player *seems* okay. Insert it into Powerpoint and you can barely hear the damn thing. All this being done on the same computer with the same volume settings. :x

DVD input audio is Dolby. WMV output audio is PCM.

Doesn't make sense why the low volume when inserted into Powerpoint. The obvious place to look would be in the PP HELP file. Did that. Nothing. Nada.

Anyone have any ideas what might be causing it, or what I can try to solve the issue (besides cranking the volume way up <LOL>)
