Unspecified Error 5:0:0 when trying to burn DVD

Post by marksman000 »

After days of editing AVCHD in VS11+ I am unable to successfully burn a disc or image for that matter. What gives?!!
I have burned others discs just fine, only they were not totally AVCHD content, only in part or not at all.

Anyone have suggestions to prevent loss of all my hard work and time?

Thanks

Did you follow the suggested procedure of creating a Video File at the end of the Editing stage and then importing that into the authoring (create disc) stage.

Could you also let us know the various settings you used - bit rates and so on.

Thanks.

Another Error creating Video File

Post by marksman000 »

After about 7 minutes, I finally got the pop up menu to select a video format where I selected HD DVD 1920, then went to bed after starting the process, but when trying to render the video file this error message showed up

Failed to encode Video
2000:1:1

Maybe I am trying to accomplish the impossible here........Its a 54 minute project about 3.5GB that I would like to save on a 4.7GB DVD to play in my HD DVD player as HD DVD

I made another attempt using the other HD DVD 1440 setting for creating a video file and the error message "Unable to load library came up" Error 19151:3:3 ??????..............

I tried to make a Regular DVD and I get the " unable to load library error again.

My original project settings
NTSC Drop frame 29.97 fps
Mpeg files
24 bits 720X 480 29.97 fps
Lower field first
(DVD-NTSC), 16:9
Video data rate: Variable (Max. 8000 kbps)
LPCM Audio, 48000 Hz, Stereo

Just to make sure it wasn't me, I created a non-AVCHD video file using different files (mini DV imports) and it worked.

In addition to the above I received a PM from marksman000 and in fact this thread reinforces one of the main items of this thread:

Despite my Grand sounding title and despite the vast array of video related software listed in my signature, I do not have High Definition equipment. Answers I give about High Definition problems are from my part untried guesswork. My observations about the above post are:

"I selected HD DVD 1920" - so you are using a High Definition format with huge file sizes.

"Its a 54 minute project about 3.5GB" - that doesn't sound anywhere near the file size I would have expected for a High Definition format but it is the sort of file size I would expect with a standard definition format of perhaps 8000 kbps.
My original project settings
NTSC Drop frame 29.97 fps
Mpeg files
24 bits 720X 480 29.97 fps

Are you saying that you have a standard definition video and are attempting to create a High Definition video from it? - it seems to conflict with your original post:

I recommend reading posts by etech6355, if anyone is our expert with HD and the AVCHD format it is him. Here's a few to get you started

Ok,

Sorry bout that PM. I am really frustrated with this program. I really like its features and burned a couple dvd's with it. But now it won't work at all. I can't create video files or DVD's, standard or AVCHD clips. I thought you might have some suggestion to get the software to function again.

No problem. lets put the HD aspect aside for a moment, you say you cannot burn ANY type of video file.

There are a few reasons why this could occur.
The first is the obvious one - a corrupt source file. Try creating a small test project with a different source file. leave out any editing with the test project all we are interested in is to see if the software crashes.

The next - and tie this in with the above test project is to find out if a problem has developed with either your DVD burner or the discs. try burning to a hard Drive folder rather than a disc. This will again eliminate a problem with the software. if it burns to a hard drive folder then the next thing to consider is a faulty batch of discs. Try a different batch.

If that still fails then it might be a problem with the burner. The thing to check for here is updated firmware from your DVD burner manufacturers website. The firmware is software that is inside the DVD Burner itself to enable it to communicate with the PC. Every so often the manufacturers update the firmware in the light of new brands of DVD discs appearing on the market.

I have never had difficulty with burning discs per say, only in rendering the video for burning. I did what you suggest. I used video files for both an AVCHD file and one from my miniDV, both created video files successfully. I then made a DVD in normal format for each. Both were burned successfully. Next, I took 3 AVCHD clips totallying 50 minutes or so added effects and made a video file, then use it to burn an HD DVD successfully. Next, I took about 140 still images and created a DVD without creating a video file and everything worked fine. Now comes my problem. When I try to create a video file with many clips, I think the last try had 15 and was 23 minutes in length with menus, the error "Cant load library" pops up and the video is not created. I tried this on several different clip arrangements, decreasing the number each time and still haven't reached a point where this error is not occuring while trying to create the video file?? Currently I have rendering at home, hopefully it will succeed, a smaller version of the same project that had 15 clips. Is there a limit to the number of clips that will be accepted successfully? The software handles low number of video clips fine but large number of clips fails. I must clarify that V+ does not crash but gives the error message and i can still close the message and work in the project.

Again leaving the question aside for the moment (to let a HD guru answer) as I too have not yet entered that field (except in recording from my HDTV card), I don't think there is any particular limit on the number of clips you can join together into one rendered video. Or at least, certainly not if the number is as low as 15. I regularly render videos into DVD-compatible mpeg-2s which only run to around 20 minutes, but which contain well over 100 short clips. Never any problem.
