WinDVD 8 Reactivation (problems with Corel site)

Post by kengetz »

Just rebuilt my Windows installation, and although I've done this many times in the past (on the InterVideo site) I just cannot figure out how to retrieve a key from the Corel site. My old intervideo ID is inactive, and my new one (on the Corel site) doesn't link me with my old InterVideo purchases. Basically, I'm unable to install WinDVD, 'cause I can't get my key. Does anyone know how to make this work on the new site?-- Ken

I urge ALL members to read this post:
Corel / Ulead / Intervideo Merged User Data

It contains IMPORTANT information relating to YOUR stored serial numbers etc.

It takes 30 seconds for corel to take my money but it takes an act of God and an "800" number to get it back ! I think you guys are home based in Nigeria !

My Intervideo purchase history is not shown under my Corel account.

I upgraded to WinDVD 8 Gold back in May - or at least I purchased it BUT never got the serial number. I filled in a support ticket a couple of times but did not get the problem resolved despite sending a copy of the order confirmation.

Now all I get when I fill in details and select the appropriate boxes to say I want customer care and have a problem with a serial number is a set of possible answers to my query.

There does not seem to be any way to actually submit a genuine query to customer services.

Any advice would be appreciated. I am obviously very annoyed at paying money and not being able to use the software I paid for. A product I have been a loyal customer of for many years and for which I have purchased several distinct license for.

I just reinstalled my computer, went to the web site to get my license and found my licenses are missing. Google, found this thread and tried the form in the post just above and got back from the mailer:

Hi. This is the qmail-send program at ebiz3.ebizgateway.net.
I'm afraid I wasn't able to deliver your message to the following addresses.
This is a permanent error; I've given up. Sorry it didn't work out.

<cs@ulead.com>:
64.18.5.10 does not like recipient.
Remote host said: 550 No such user - psmtp Giving up on 64.18.5.10.

I then tried a support form on the corel site but it appeared to take my message and use it to look up answers to frequently asked questions, none of which helped. I can't tell whether it actually sent my question in or just directed me to the FAQs.

Intervideo/corel have better have not lost my keys and really ought to be paying me compensation for the time and aggravation I spent trying to access my purchased product.
