What Video Capture cards are recommended for Videostudio 10?

Post by jkennard »

Is there an updated list available of recommended video capture cards that are very compatible with VideoStudio 10?

What suggestions do forum members have that work very well without issues?

NOTE: The ULEAD recommended video capture card list is 3 years old.

I don't know if there is a list, but 99 percent of the time you are better-off using the capture-software that came with your capture-hardware.

Once you have a digital video file on your hard drive, you can use the video editing and DVD authoring software of your choice.

Some capture-hardware and capture-software just doesn't "play well together". My theory is that the drivers are not standardized. I know Microsoft has standards for common peripherals (like printers and video display drivers), so that any application will work with any printer. But, I suspect there are no such standards for analog video capture drivers.

The "Official" capture card list is here:

BUT... it is dated "Latest Updated on 2004/11/5"
