How to optimise my system using different applications

Post by Banji Abereoje »

Hi ALL,

Pls I need a professional advice on this. How possible is it to install MSP8, VS8, COOL PS and Adobe Premiere 6.5 in the same Hard Disk? Won't there be any interference? Or how best can I install these in my system?

As a matter of fact, I have 2 physical hard drives in my system (120GB: partitioned into 2 & 80GB: also partitioned into 2). How can I optimise this, if I need all these editing softs?

Thx in anticipation of your prompt response

BanjiA.

There should be no intereference between any of them. I don't have that older version of Adobe Premiere, but have Premiere Pro 2.0 on a machine with MSP 8, VS 8, 9, 10+ and 11+, Cool 3D PS and a variety of other related programs, and all of them work fine.

Hi Ken,

Do you have VS9 and VS11+ running on a Vista PC? If so, how did you get VS9 to run? I can't even get some of the AVI's to run (drive in movie clip, etc). Thanks.

The computer I mentioned runs on XP Pro. Previous posts where I mentioned that I had installed VS11+ on a Vista computer are now outdated. I have six computers in all, and I was having so much trouble with VS11+ on Vista, that I simply installed it on my main editing computer, which runs XP Pro. At the moment, I have no video editing programs at all on the Vista machine.
