HDV to DVD + not playable on Toshiba E 1

Post by laie »

Ulead says it's possible to burn HD-material on a regular disc to watch in HD on a HD-DVD-player (such as Toshiba E 1). Well - it won't work for me. I burned a project that includes a HDDVD_TS-folder. I used a regular DVD-R but it will not play on my new Toshiba E 1 (even with the lates firmwware-update). The players says "no dvd format".

What can I do ? Am I doing something wrong or is it simply not possible what Uleads promises as a feature (that's why I bought Ulead + my HD-DVD-player to watch homevideos taken in HD).

Any suggestions?

Will you be watching it on a HD Monitor?

Just asking

I plan to make a demonstration of HD-footages, filmed in my region here. So yes, it will be shown on an HD-Monitor.

Can it be I have to burn the .iso -file instead of the HDDVD_TS-folder?

Does Ulead specifically mention the Toshiba E1? Does the Toshiba user manual say it will play HD burned onto a regular DVD?

I know this works for lots of people, but I don't know if the HD-DVD spec requires all HD-DVD players to play this type of hybrid disc... :?
