Post by zoobie »

Can't convert DV-AVI to WMV with MSP, WMM, WME, or Super
Looks like the DV made with MSP7 is corrupt.
I've made several...same message in gspot

Code: Select all

GSPOT Report:

File truncated in the "legacy index" area.
232 bytes are missing
DV Type 2 AVI
Multipart OpenDML AVI (2 parts)
(9448 frames in first part, 0 frames follow)

No empty time slots found...
Suggestions?
Thx

Where did it originate from, can you get a fresh copy?

It's my own HD footage downconverted in the cam and sent thru my Datavideo device, capped with WinDV, and saved as DV-AVI. Gspot shows my cap renders OK. It looks and sounds very good.

Right now, I'm running tests with MSP. I was able to make a WMV with a completely untouched and unedited cap.

Then, I used said cap and saved it as DV-AVI and the same error message I posted above appeared yet again.

I'm also wondering of my Sony HC5 cam's output isn't a high bitrate MPEG and should be saved as such. The proper way would be to use firewire directly from the cam to the card but I'll need a 9 to 6 pin converter for that.

Not ruling out the OS isn't corrupt either since it crashed hard 5 weeks ago and fails to respond sometimes.

My OS has become unstable so I can't really expect any video programs to work properly until it's fixed.
Thx

...rather the hard drive that the OS was on. I dug up an old HD and everything worked properly. Guess I'll get another 250gb when they're on sale.
Thx
