want to use VS10 templates with VS11

Post by sunshinegirl690 »

I just upgraded from 10+ to 11+....wasn't going to BUT being able to cut clips in the overlay and add transitions in overlay got me :)

So now I may want to use some of those templates I purchased for VS10...Movie Wizard templates and DVD Menu templates....Do I need to make a video file in 10 and then import into 11 or is there another way?

Also..this has probably been asked but forgive me  Why doesn't the update override and add content of previous version? Why do I have 2 progs now 10 and 11? Am I missing something or did I not do this correctly?

As usual all of you are just terrific with your responses...Thank you :D

Hate to break the news to you, but you can't put transitions in the overlays in v11 either.

I haven't copied any of the previous stuff into VS11+ because as far as I can tell it's in there already.

However if you have bought some extra templates then you should be able to copy them over in the way described in this link I created for VS10. Obviously you will need to alter the path names accordingly.

Thank you....

So what is the deal with having 2 versions on the computer...So if someone started from the begining (I don't know what version it was) say VS7...now they upgrade every time....Do they have 7,8,9,10,11 all on the computer? Can you get rid of 10 and just have 11?

You can have 'em all (as some do) or just one. I actually have 9 & 10 (in order to help on this forum) and the trial of 11 on this computer. If you do decide to remove 10, you may have to do a repair of 11 to replace anything removed by the removal of 10. :?

Okay I gotcha...I just like having a neat and tidy computer! If I don't need it...it's gone  I am the complete opposite of a junk collector...
