This is my problem:
When inserting mini DVD discs (DVD-RAM, DVD-R, and DVD-RW) from a Panasonic Video camera, to the computer, no sound can be heard when I try to edit them in VideoStudio 9. The sound works when playing the discs in another program, but then of course no editing is possible.
The only time I've heard anything was when I dragged a sample audio clip onto my project.
Properties of your source files (format, file size, where did you get it?):
When I'm in VideoStudio and I click on the properties of a clip, the following shows:
File Format: PAL DVD
File Size: 35,624 KB
Video Type: MPEG-2 Video, Upper Field First
Audio Type: Dolby Digital Audio
What devices are involved and their mode of connection?
The devices involved are: Panasonic Camera, mini DVD discs (DVD-RAM, DVD-R, and DVD-RW), and VideoStudio 9.
Project Settings
This is what I copied from Project properties:
PAL (25 fps)
MPEG files
24 Bits, 704 x 576, 25 fps
Upper Field First
(DVD-PAL), 4:3
Video data rate: Variable (Max. 9558 kbps)
Audio data rate: 224 kbps
MPEG audio layer 2, 48 KHz, Stereo
Output format : DVD
Any suggestions on how to get my sound back would be greatly appreciated!!

Do you have a full version of VideoStudio 9.
Trial and SE (Simple Edition) versions may not support Dolby Audio.

You will need to give use the information required in this post:

We will need to know all you can tell us about the source of your videos - you say they are imported from DVD. Is that a home made DVD or something from the shops?
How are you importing the DVD - are you doing it
This way?
Right click on a captured clip in VideoStudio and note down all of the properties of the clip - better still provide a screen shot. This is quite easy to do, just press the [PrtSc] button on your keyboard, open an image editing program such as PhotoImpact, Photoshop etc and paste as a new image. You can then crop that image to keep just the part we want.
Then you can save the image as a GIF and upload it to ImageShack
