WinDVD 8 Platinum will not load or play - Help Please!

I went to play a DVD today and WinDVD 8 Platinum won't start.

You see the hourglass pointer for a fraction of a second but nothing ever happens.

I tried re-booting but nothing. I tried to repair the install, nothing works.

I installed and re-installed. Still the same problem.

Anyone have any ideas?
