Hi experimenting with making a slideshow and having a few problems.
I have added a few hundred pictures to my project in the time line from one folder on my PC and when I select sort in date order they are the oposite to what I want, even tried clicking sort in date order a second time with no luck. I want to organise them now that they are in the timeline in date order with oldest first but they have ended up most recent first, is there a clever way to reverse the date order?
Also once in timeline can you change the amount of time they display for the whole lot in one go as they are currently at 3 seconds and when I add transitions thats hardly enough time for a stable display before the next transition starts? I know there is something in File/preferences/edit but I think this must be for use before fitting the pictures into the timeline as I tried changing it and nothing happens to the photos in the timeline.
I know I could redo the timeline fresh with the time set for display first but as I am a little way into my project I would prefer to do something that effects them whilst they are in the timeline.
Also if I add some video clips in this slideshow, what will happen when I play this slideshow on the TV, will the videos play inbetween the pictures, ok?
Also last question I have another folder full of pictures for another slideshow I want to do where this folder has several folders within it that contain the pictures, how do I add these photos, is there a way to add the parent folder that contains the folders within that contains the photos, so that they will play like a slideshow? When I checked it didn't seem possible that you could add a folder, but these folders yet again contains hundreds of photos, so it will be long winded to select each bunch of pictures to add to project otherwise.
Any help appreciated.
VS 11+ few slideshow questions please

You sort the files in the library manager by right clicking:

You have to set the duration before you insert them onto the timeline using
File | Preferences | Edit Tab
Otherwise you end up changing them one by one.
Video clips and Slideshow mixed. No problem - here is an example

You need to organise your slides in the library manager by grouping them

The only way I have found of changing the duration of still images once they are in the timeline -- apart from doing it one by one -- is to highlight all the images and drag and drop them into the library pane. Then empty the timeline. Change the duration in File > Preferences > Edit if you haven't already done so. Then select all the photos in the library pane and drag and drop them back into the timeline. They will now have the new duration.
Still a bit clunky, but much, much faster than doing them one by one!
Regarding mixing photos and videos, as Steve has already said, no problems. Just one thing you have to be careful about. A simple slideshow made up only of still images can be Frame Based, though it can also take on the characteristics of either Lower or Upper Field First. Your video clips, if they are to be played on a normal TV, should already be either Upper or Lower Field First. Whichever it is, make the whole project, including the slideshow part, use the same Field Order as the video. Do NOT change the video's original field order or you will have problems of jerky video and jagged edges in rapid movement or panning shots.
And do not mix video clips which use different field orders in the one project. Frame Based photos are the only exception to this rule.

Yes, I made a small typo in my first response which should have looked like this:
You need to organise your slides in the library manager by grouping them
by using the Library Manager.
