Media Studio Ultra Pro Graphics Machine!!

Post by Owen »

I've been using MSP since v5 and Corel Draw since 1990. Version 1 point something.

Why don't these giants in the graphics industry combine their product and produce a ultra editing software programme to beat all.

Imagine MSP combined with CG Graphics which included features adapted from Corel Draw and Corel Move. Video Paint could pick up a few enhancements on the way as well. Combine this with Cool3d and you'd end up with a product that would put the competition in a spin. This new company has the expertise. All it needs to do is combine a modular package out of what it's got that gives us a real state of the art tool. Then market and pitch it at the professional market.

Corel/Ulead. Your long supporting customers, and there must be thousands of us. It's through our loyality you've got this big. I'm sure I speak for many when I challenge you to not kill off product but combine it into a worthwhile tool.

I may have it wrong, but it LOOKS like Corel has come to the conclusion that they do not have what it takes to compete on a pro or semi-pro level. However they are MUCH more successful on a consumer/hobbyist level..... which appears to be the way that they are going.

The behavior of Corel is totally unacceptable. I am already in a changing mood, and must say, I am learning that there are out there very good, reliable and future looking softwares. I regret to say that I am saying goodbye to Corel. Good luck for them. I am still watching this forum for its excellent quality, nice people and enthusiastic moderators/administrators. It will take though a few months before I go though the alternative softwares evaluation. If a miracle happens there is still a chance that my loyalty to MSP8 prevails.

I too find myself in the same school of thought as fandj. I have been using MSP since version 2.5 at least and would continue supporting Corel/Ulead as long as it was available/supported. I just have to question where a company such as Corel is going if they would scrap such a great piece of software. It wouldn't seem like good business sense to invest anything with Corel if I have to wonder if the rug is going to be pulled out from under me at any moment.

However, my order for the 'other' video program won't be placed until it's official that MSP is no more.

I suspect that the pro market is already overcrowded - the only certs are final cut & premier in my opinion.

I don't see the rush to change from MSP8 to be honest, although I agree with the sentiment that Corel will be firmly consumer oriented. Like in many markets at the moment, it seems like there will be low-end consumer products (some of them pretty capable), and high-end complex high-cost high-margin products - with nothing in between.
