how to download DVD files for editing

I have had my video 8's copied to DVD but now want to edit them.
Which program do you suggest I purchase to load the copied files onto my computer for editing.

You don't need any programme to get the files onto your computer for editing, as you can just drag and drop them onto the hard drive after placing the disc in the dvd drive.

I'd expect videostudio would be a good programme to do the editing with.

The two main Ulead programs used for editing are
VideoStudio
MediaStudio

The first is the cheaper and more popular program
The second is the more expensive program aimed more towards the Professional or serious hobbyist.

video files on h/drive not in editable format how 2 convert

i was able to load files onto desk top but all files are .bup .info .vob.
which play on intervideo but are not editable or able to be copied.
want to edit them.
not sure how to convert them
