I'm seeing the same AVI processing error

Post by beaverme »

I get a "Unable to Load Library" (19151:3:3) error when processing my video. I just bought the upgrade to 11.0 The same project works on my old 8.0 and 9.0 version but not this 11.0 version. The processing fails when it hits an AVI file in the video. I have a mix of JPG images, WMV files but it fails on processing the AVI files. There is not information on 11.0 to look through. What library am I missing? The video plays when putting the video together in the editor. I can edit the length and all but the system will not process it.

My System: Vista Ultra - Dell E520 Dual Core 2.12GHz - 2 gig memory - 500GB drive - NVidia GeForce 7300LE

I see one big problem..
You are mixing 3 different field order/formats in one project. How do you expect to set the Project Properties to match all 3? You can mix photos with videos. However you are trying to mix WMV, which is a highly compressed format, and whatever your "AVI" (which is a container or wrapper), unless you are using raw AVI and not DV. AVI may contain DV, DivX, Xvid, and MOV to name a few. All except the DV are very highly compressed, will most likely use differing field orders.

You need to decide on a video file format. If your end product is going to be DVD, then convert all files to the same format, DVD Compatible MPEG-2. Then bring them in to VS, add your images and do all your editing.

If your end product is to be viewed on the internet, then convert your "AVI" to WMV or vice-versa if your "avi' is actually DivX or Xvid.

Once you've decided on the format to use, when you start your new project, set your project properties to match your video properties. VS should work much better under those circumstances.

And if in fact the AVI turns out to be DivX or XVid, you will of course need to have installed the relevant codec on your computer as it does not come with either Vista or VS.

AVI processing error

Post by beaverme »

The AVI file came from a Sony camcorder. So it was originally a 8mm digital that Ulead captured and stored on the hard drive.

How do I know what codec I need for an AVI file, or any video? Is there a way of looking at a file to know what codec I need?

This HAS to be a version 11 problem becuase I have a video with jpg, wmv, mpeg-2, mov, and avi, gif, tif, and few others that burned just fine, but using VS 10+.

To see the properties of the file, right click on it within Video Studio (and copy its properties here please).

It is always possible that one particular file has a corruption in it which causes VS11 to keel over. You can play it successfully, but when VS has to transcode it, it hits the corruption and stops.

Can you please also tell us exactly how you were 'processing' your project. Were you rendering it into a single DVD-compliant mpeg-2 (Share > Create Video File > DVD) which you would then burn, or were you going straight to the burning module (Share > Create Disc) to let the rendering be done there on the fly with all the other complicated processes of burning a disc? We normally recommend the former.

Unable to load library error

I too have just received this error message in VS. I was very close to purchasing this program after becoming disgusted with Roxio Video Wave. If someone hears of a fix please let me know.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Same Problem

I just upgraded from VS8 to VS11 and I am having the same exact problem, only all my videos are DV format from the same camcorder. I just captured the videos, edited them with transitions and added some background WAV file music. Now I get to 98% completion when outputting either DV format or DVD format and then I receive the error "Unable to load library. 19151:3:3. Any help would be appreciated.

I've tried to replicate this "fail to load library" error, however so far have not been able to.

I've noticed that one person is running it on XP, which rules out a Vista problem.

Are the DV video clips being captured with VS11, or some other program? I'll admit that I use WinDV to capture and not VS. If I get some free time, I'll try to capture using VS to see if I get the error. Anyone that is having this problem, and used VS to capture, is welcome to try using WinDV (firewire), to see if they still get the same error while rendering.

19151:3:3 Unable to load library

It seems to occur either when I mix video with still Jpegs or when I am using transitions. It can play the video just fine in the edit mode, but when you render it to a file or dvd it errs near the end.

At this point it is clear to me that there is a bug in version 11 running with Vista. I have run it on Windows XP without a problem. Hope to get a fix real soon.

Please post details of the video file.
As you know this could be anything from a DV to a MPEG, DivX, WMV or a dozen other formats. Also some details of that video in the way of bit rates, frame sizes, frame rates etc.

Because it does not seem to be related to the type of file (it has happend with a variety of them), it really seems to not be file related. As I have said, it does not occur in Windows XP, just Vista. If you take an mpeg of about 2 minutes and mix it with some jpegs and set the prefs to use random tansitions in version 11 on a Vista OS, I bet you will see it produce the error. Let me know. Thanks.

Sorry but I have avoided Vista like the plague. Dabbled a little with it on my Sister in laws laptop and my brother in laws lap top - didn't try anything heavy like Video work - I think that me and Vista are a bit of a no go at the moment.

Perhaps some of our other forum members can chip in with their experiences here.

Can't remember where I read this but this problems seems to crop up when changing the file locations sometime between the library creation and the burning phase

Make sure all video and sound files are re-linked and libraries are loaded/created properly
