Ulead DVD MovieFactory 6 will not open media

Post by Jimmyp »

After open Ulead DVD MovieFactory 6 Launcher and then click on New video project and when you click on add media or slideshow it will do nothing for about 30 sec. then go right back New video project and not open any media.
Any HELP?

I've got the exact same problem. Out of a dozen tries -- maybe one will actually go to the OPEN dialog box.

MF5+ never had this problem.

I had the same or about the same problem.

I would open the launcher, click on new video project. Then once I clicked on the Add video files (to add a movie) it would sit for about 30 seconds and return to the launcher.

I loaded Dr Watson and then ran the program. It generated an Exception number: 80000007. After looking around google forums I ended up doing a search for DivX_UL.dll in windows and deleting it, it was found twice (I should have renamed it instead of deleting it).

The program works as advertised again.

I am going to do a clean un-install and then re-install of the program and see what happens then.

I am also having a similar problem with MF6. I start a new Video project and go to 'add files', I can add the first 2 files OK, but when I go to add the 3rd one, I click on the add file icon and then MF goes away to do something and never returns! I have to carry out Alt/Cnrt/delete to close MF6 down. I have tried different files and it is always the same - when trying to add the 3rd file...any ideas?
PS I am uninstalling and reinstalling as I type!

It looks as though the problem was due to my second drive. I have moved the mpeg files over to my desktop and MF6 added the additional files with no hesitation :) . I am now defragging my video drive to see if that was the problem.

Please click here --> Image so that we can then view your system specifications.

If you are running XP then
start | run
in the dialog box chkdsk d: /f
You will need to reboot your computer to enable it to continue.
For further information please view How to use the Chkdsk Utility

NOTE: change d: to the drive letter you are having problems with.

Help! I moved my mpeg files (from d: ) over to a folder in c: but could not get MMF4 to open the files... in the 'Browse Folder' window the 'OK' was grayed... hadn't used MMF4 in a while, but this used to work fine... (The ONLY way I could now get the 'OK' to not be grayed was to select a folder that contained a Video TS subfolder...

Any clues? I sure would appreciate some help!

It appears that you're using the Import DVD Video,DVD-VR files. Are you clicking on the Disk (first on right) icon or the Filmstrip (2nd from left) icon? Unless you are wanting to import video files from either DVD folders, or a DVD disk, you should use the Add Video Files.

Ron Thank you! Since I had not used MMF4 for a while I had forgotten that files like mpeg need to be added through the 'film strip' icon.

Any HELP?
its identical to this problem but i'm trying to run it on a windows vista laptop, toshiba. and it came with ulead dvd movie factory 5 for toshiba and that worked fine for a while but then i didnt use it for about 3 mounths and when i came to use it a few days ago it came up with this problem so i looked on the website a found a patch which said it'll fix it so i downloaded that and tried to use it but it said something along the lines of cannot find ulead dvd moviefactory 5 on you system. so i gave up on version 5 and got ulead dvd moive factory 6 and once i had installed it and restarted the same problem came up again. so this suggests to me its something to do with my computer and the only thing i can think of is that i have now since in the first time i used dvd movie factory 5 have installed drivx player and codecs. so i what would be helpful is if somebody can help me fix it. i've tried to fill in my system infomation but the tuturial only covers windows xp and vista does not have it the same
