Slideshow do not resize large images to fit screen size.

I have the same issue with PI12 on XP and PI 3.02 version on Window 95. If I untick resize large images to fit screen size box the image is much larger the PC screen, so I expect when I tick the box it should arrive to one of the screen border. Instead a large backgound is present on tob/bottom, Left/right of the picture (in JPG). Pictures tested are from 640x480 to 3872x2592. No changes except the backgroung area is changing (reducing) a bit.
My camera generate 300DPI pictures but when I create Thumbnail and I check picture Properties, the thumbnail appear as 72DPI. Any suggestion? It is really many months I'm playing arround this issue without any results. The rest of the program work perfectly in both versions I have,....

Pls disgregate any relation to DPI. It is not related to the request. The request is for PI12 Album Slideshow. My screen is 1280x800 pixel. So I expect pictures as 640x480 with large (black in my case) area arround it (as I can see on the screen) and 3872x2592 pictures resized to fit screen at 1280x800 (instead I see the this pictrures with a black area arround the picture as they would be smaller as 800x600pixel).

Any suggstion

I have been able to found, with several experiments, that simply PI (any version) DO NOT resize in PhotoImpact Album slideshow on Horizontal axis. It work only in VERTIAL axis. For my purposes this is a limitation should be corrected.
