hai if my video is dv avi..how to convert file dv avi into mpeg-2 compatible...the project properties i had followed the source file thats avi but when i need to make an mpeg,is it i need to choose the mpeg-2 compatible as is will oppose the project properties,isnt?

What do you want to do with the mpeg file?

What are your goals with the finished (edited) video? Back to tape, or create a DVD for playing in a dvd player, or some other purpose?

Basically, when you go to CREATE VIDEO FILE (File/ Create / Video File), you select the type of file you want to create, and set the parameters for encoding, and then generate the new file...

Are you using VideoStudio, MediaStudio, both, etc... (I see you have questions in both forums, so just want to make sure you post in the proper forum to get the most helpful replies based on the software you are using).
