Hi Folks,
I'm new to VS. I have v11+plus. I have enjoyed using V11 and I'm impressed with the output on a test burn I did yesterday. I was previously using Adobe Premier Pro but found it too complicated to use and needed something powerful yet simpler to use.
Some Questions though:
1)
I couldn't find a generic black screen to add just when I need some black. Of course it's easy to create one by making a simple black J-peg image and sloting it in where you need some black with no transitions. Would have liked a little 10second customisable countdown. I have a feeling they are there somewhere but seem to have missed them?
2)
I'm creating a video DVD using lots of pictures I have from my recent holiday. I also have some short video clips that I want to incorporate but I don;t want to use the natural sound that comes with the video. When i add the video to the time line I don't notice a correspoding Sound file in the sound timeline. Is there something wrong I have done in the presets when creating this project? I couldn't find anything in the help files (and I admit I haven't searched on this forum). I of course want to remove the sound and use my own music track.
Thanks for any assistance

Re the black colour matte, see this thread: http://phpbb.ulead.com.tw/EN/viewtopic. ... 963#122963
There used to be a countdown clip included in the sample video which came with the program. But I confess I haven't checked this with VS10 or 11. In any case, it is not customisable.
As for muting the audio, use the Mute audio button! In the Edit screen, this can be found in virtually the dead centre of screen. The Video tab has, at its top, a little digital clock, and to its right, a volume control which shows 100 (normal volume) by default. You can either change that to 0 to get rid of the volume, or simply click on the icon to its right, like a loudspeaker with an X through it. That is the Mute button...
VS does not show the embedded audio in graphic form except in Audio view.
