Camera not found with VS 11

Post by PARALAX »

Hello!

There seems to be a problem with my Laptop or Windows XP Home (SP2). My Laptop is a Toshiba Satellite SM30 with 1,6Ghz. Intel CPU, ATI Radeon 9700 and the latest K-Lite Codec Pack as well as the latest Catalyst driver. All updates are installed but I can't access my Sony TRV14E DV-Camcorder at all.:(

The device will be detected on the Fi-Wi Port correctly and I even can access and record Videos with the build in Windows Movie Maker. However I can't with Videostudio 11. All Options are marked and I can't choose any device. Another problem is that I'm loosing the audio stream and the programm crashes after quitting if I want to work with Moviemaker recorded material. I'm very dissapointed with this version which I even only could install without a "fatal error" when I install the InterVideo Application apart from the VS installation. I never had those problems on my AMD64 Desktop which is still working with an old Windows XP Professional version.

What can I do now for fixing the detection problem with the camera?

Why did you feel the need to install the KLite Codec pack? Those mega codec packs cause more problems than they are worth -- usually (and by the sounds of it with your most recent installation of VS11) by causing conflicts with other installed codecs so that nothing ends up working. Trying deleting the K-Lite pack and see if VS11 works better.
