ISO file question:

Post by Fortsand »

I overlooked the step to create an iso file when I created a disc. I usually do this in the burn step and it is the only way I know how to do it.
Is there a way to create an iso file from a DVD that has already been burned? Thanks.

Do you have any DVD authoring programs, like DVD MovieFactory, or Nero? I've never attempted to create an ISO from a DVD. With VS10 you will need to rebuild your menus. It has the ability of course to Import DVD files, then you will need to build your menus, chapters ect.

Did you Save your Project? The prompt that VS gives "Saving..." is deceiving. It does not save anything unless when you go to close VS, in the editor you choose to save your project when prompted. Then you could open that project and your menus ect., will still be there. You could then go to the burn module, and create an ISO file.

With a DVD authoring program, you could simply use Copy DVD to produce identical copies of your burned DVDs.

I have Movie Factory 3.5, plus Roxio Easy Creator 8. I have a Nero program that came with a DVD burner, but I have never loaded it because I felt I had enough DVD programs on my machine already. Thanks for your help.

Have a look for a little program called dvd-decrypter.

link here

It has a mode called 'iso read' which will create an iso of your dvd on your HD.

You then use the mode 'iso write' to burn that iso on to another disk.
