MSP for HDV

Post by Mauriceh1 »

I want to be able to capture HDV video so I can load it up to internet stock footage sites (I'm better at filming than editing). MsP8 looks to be a value for money approach to achieve this plus I can edit DV movies.
However, I'm not sure HDV capture will be possible without problems using my laptop Pent 4-2.4mHz, 1GB memory.

Also not sure about MSP8 compatability with Sony HDR FX7E cam.

Any thoughts greatly appreciated.

Hi Maurice,

I will keep it brief as it¡¦s not worth wasting a lot of time talking about MSP and HDV as it only just manages to handle DV.

I purchased in haste as one of the first to use HDV and MSP was the first to ship with a HDV capture interface. I have since moved on but hoped a Windows Vista or even a 64 bit XP version would be realised but couldn¡¦t wait any longer so I now use **** Express for all the questions you want answered.

Advertisment for other non-Corel/Ulead programs removed by Admin..

We¡¦ll I hope you read my last comment before it was removed which I hope answered your question.

The final comment they added in red speaks for itself but as I only have the end user interests at heart please read my summary below.

I film and edit all the time with HDV and MSP is not good at handling HD footage despite what hardware you have, if you are serious about film editing and final film quality on a budget look else ware I cannot make suggestions as they were removed do I need to say anymore.

Bye for now and good luck.

P.S. I am selling my MSP8 with Video Graphics if anyone is still intereted for 150 pounds

FYI, I'm not Corel, Ulead or Intervideo, I'm a product user, like you. These forums have rules that are set by our (the current Admins, Mods) Administrators whom happen to be Corel representatives. They may appear here once in a great while. However the Moderators and Administrators are charged with ensuring the rules are followed.

Several of us are aware of pitfalls and shortcoming of the products. However if you feel it necessary to recommend other products do not do so in the open forums. The web board does have a PM function (Private Message). Use that function if you feel you need to push other products or slam Corel/Uleads. I'm sure the other products forums would feel and handle such postings in the same manner.

Rumor has it that MSP will be discontinued....something that Corel in all fairness SHOULD be mentioning to all future customers.... which they are not. Your money is better spent elsewhere.
