Power Calabaration error.

Post by Carrie »

This problem is destroying my hobby. I spend hours editing and such using Video Studio 10+ only to find after trying to write to the disk in share mode for an hour or more I get this error. Even though I use 'test first' it also ruins the disk.
So far I have found only Maxell DVD-R that seem to work (most times) these are hard to get. At present I am trying Kodak. Waisted 5 so far but the odd thing is I can copy onto this disk no problem ....so it's not the disk...my recorder is ok.... what the heck is it? Is it a Ulead thing. This is costing me a fortune... and doing my head in . I might as well throw my camcorder away.
Does anyone else have this problem? Can you recomend the best Video blanks to buy? Any help appreciated.

You apparently didn't do a SEARCH for "power calibration" or you would have found these to answer your question:

It's not your VS or your camcorder. It's a problem with your media or your burner.

Thankyou.
I did indeed do a search and had already found the relevant pages. I was asking in the hope that maybe someone could suggest a high quality disk that may have low error rates.
Searching is also frustrating as on going back to view the next link I get a 'webpage has expired' and have to re search all over again.

The fact that you've tried other brands suggests to me it is a hardware (burner) issue. But, to answer your question I use Verbatim discs without problem.

When clicking on a search result first hold down the Shift key then click on it. It will open in a new window and the search results will remain in the original window.

I was just going to say that I too use Ritek consistently, with no failures. Full face printables 8x. And they work on my Sony, LG, Pioneer, Matshita and Asus burners.
