I hope you are NOT using Vista.
Is the copy of CD&DVDPS4 a FULL version or something that came 'Free' with a piece of hardware such as a camcorder, digital camera or scanner?
If so then it will be a SE (Simple Edition) version and will by why the patch does not work.
If you do have a full copy of CD&DVDPS4 was it an upgrade version or full (new) version, plus did you install it to the default installation location?

I am using WinXP. I have downloaded the trial version of the pictureshow from the ulead web site.
Came to know from the web site that, update patches won't work with trial versions. If this is the case, I can't evaluate the software. I guess, trial version has bugs and ulead doesn't want to give the patches.
Any further suggestions? If not, I need to look for another vendor's software.

REINSTALLING PICTURESHOW 4 UPGRADE
I have been using this Ulead product for several years now and am quite attached to it. I've never had any problems at all and for the first time tonight, while trying to install my PS4 upgrade, i am getting errors.
I first started by installing PS3 Full Version. Then, I inserted the PictureShow 4 Upgrade disc that I paid for (as I originally downloaded the upgrade) and it goes thru the entire installation and then gives me the following error:
"The contents of this file cannot be unpacked. The executable you are attempting to run has been corrupted. Please obtain another copy of the file, verify it's integrity and try again".
What does this mean? I have never had an issue ever with installing the upgrade.
I have windows xp pro-nothing fancy. 1 gm memory and tons of hard drive space. I dont understand why it wont install the upgrade.
I purchased it at least 2 years ago. I dont know how my disc could go bad, it's still in the original packaging.

Unfortunatley discs are not as indestructable as they were first made out to be. I remember some advert on the TV where this guy spread jam and stuff on the disc and also made it fly like a frisbee claiming they were indestructable. They are not.
After doing the obvious and carefuly cleaning the surface, I would try moving the entire contents of the dic to a hard drive folder. This in itself might confirm a faulty disc if you are unable to complete the process.
If it does copy then try installing from the hard drive folder.
If this works then I would also burn that hard drive folder to a new disc as an extra safety copy.
