DV-to-DVD Theme Templates

Post by rad2d »

Is there a way to create your own Theme Templates in VideoStudio and apply them to the DV-to-DVD Wizard?

I purchased VideoStudio 11 just for it's implementation of this one step solution, as I shoot a lot of personal tapes (several per day sometimes) and wanted a simple way of kicking out a fairly professional looking DVD with minimal time effort. I specifically wanted quality encoding, so I was glad to see that Ulead didn't simply use Direct to DVD techniques, in favor of DV capture and render.

My only problem is that I'm not happy with any of the templates that came with the software. I'm sure they're fine for some, but not for me. After playing around with the software, I couldn't find a way to create your own templates. Am I missing something?

Also - is there any way to get the DV-to-DVD Wizard to use a main menu with chapter buttons for each scene? I thought I was able to make that work in the trial download, but can't seem to figure it out again now that I've purchased it.

And - please - I'm not looking for any responses telling me to do a full edit project to get what I want here. I have plenty of editing tools for creating custom DVDs and have been doing it for several years. But there are very few applications that do this kind of single-step, high quality DV to DVD transfer, and I had a very specific need for this functionality with many of the tapes I shoot. I just need to know if I can or can't do some of these things with the DV-to-DVD wizard.

Thanks in Advance!

I never found time to get round to trying this so you can be the guinea pig.

It is an often asked question and I would love to have time to try this for myself. Oh well, one day I will retire and have a bit more time on my hands!!
